Some applications require specially designed pumps capable of handling high temperature liquids, The Fahrenheit Series made by BJM can handle water temperatures up to 200 degrees F. They have seals and O-ring that can withstand the higher temperatures to protect the motor. Bearings are located in an oil filled motor housing to keep them lubricated. They also have a shorter shaft extension beyond the bearing to eliminate deflection.

With 14 different series to choose from BJM offers cast iron or 316 stainless steel in both solid handling and clear liquids. Along with high head options, shredder and slurry applications.

A common application is boiler blowdowns which involve pumping water from a boiler to adjust chemical levels for minimizing scale and corrosion. Blowdowns also clean the boiler by blowing out solids circulating in the system. The water gets dumped into a pit where it is pumped out as wastewater. The high temperatures and abrasives can shorten the life of a standard pump.
